Due to the uncertainty of COVID-19, we have made the difficult decision to postpone our planned youth activities for the 2020 summer until 2021. This includes the following scheduled events:

Nauvoo trip (July 13-18)

Girl’s Camp (June 8-10)

Deacon Camp (June 10-12)

While health and safety is our priority, we hope to be able to come together soon. And after weeks of sheltering in place, we know the youth are eager for opportunities to connect and socialize. SAVE THE DATE! The stake youth committee, along with stake youth leaders, will begin planning a youth conference for July 16-18, 2020.

Sincerely,

Stake Youth Leaders

DANCES

?

In December 2018 the age policy was changed for youth attending dances. Before the change, youth had to be 14 or older to attend most youth conferences and dances. The policy change can be found in Handbook 2, 10.12.1 and reads:

Participation in Camps, Youth Conferences, and Dances

Youth may enjoy the privileges that are appropriate for their age-group. With their parents’ approval, young women may attend overnight camps beginning in January of the year they turn 12. Likewise, youth may attend dances and youth conferences beginning in January of the year they turn 14. However, a young woman or young man should be at least age 16 before beginning to date (see For the Strength of Youth [2011], 4).

This means that all youth currently 13, but turning 14 in 2020 can attend stake and multi-stake dances and youth conferences.
